I recently went on a tour of Taylor guitar in El Cajon and interestingly enough, Breedlove left Taylor to form his own company and has since been lured back - I'm not sure of the timeframes, but according to our tourguide, there is more of a connection there!

Like Luke I saved up for high end guitar for a while. Had 2k to spend. Ended up with Gibson songwriter. 2 days later I went back and exchanged it for the Breedlove C25/SR. I was sold on the specs and name in the gibson, but when I listened for pure sound I liked the breedlove better. So I sacrificed the ebony bridge and fret, bone nut, and gibson headstock, but I gained a better sound (at least for my style and taste) and saved $1000. Really every guitar has its own sound and work better for different situations, so I'd rather get 2 or 3 really good 1k guitars than just 1 high end martin or taylor.

I would like to chime in with my 2 cents. I have always dreamed of owning a Taylor. I have put Taylor on a pedestal and had saved for a long time to finally purchase one. The day i finally had the cash came. I had the cash in hand and was in my local shop looking for the right Taylor to take home with me. After playing a few different models, the sales assistant came to me with a beautiful looking guitar in hand. He presents it to me and tells me the manufacturer. Breedlove. I was like ???? i had never heard of them. i had no intention of giving it another thought, but he hooked me in and from the first strum, i fell in love. It was the AC25/SR plus. So to make a long story short. i walked out with a brand new Breedlove and no longer any dreams of that "magical" Taylor i had so long coveted. I promote Breedlove to anyone and everyone who plays, almost all have never heard of them, but after playing mine, i have them asking about them in thier music shops. I tell them i would choose a Breedlove over a Taylor ANY DAY.

Kim Breedlove, thank you

Breedlove is based in Bend, Oregon, and thus the brand is a bit better known out West. It's harder to find them in the East.

Indeed, to be honest, I missed this brand. Also it may be due to location also since there are a lot of brands less promoted where I live.
