Stevie Ray Vaughn Lenny Tribute Stratocaster from Fender
October 7th, 2007
Hey Hey... Fender has decided to let everyone know about the new Collectors Edition guitar called the Stevie Ray Vaughn Lenny Stratocaster. Yeah baby this is hot de trot!
Fender has been putting out quite a few guitars lately in their tribute series and well Guitar Center seems to be the ones backing this one. You could pick up the Original Lenny for like $623,500 way way back in 2004, now well it seems they are only going to be running 185 of these in the USA.
Here is some details on this guitar basically its a rosewood fretboard with maple beck 65 strat and it was bought for him by his wife at the time her name was Lenora aka Lenny for only $300 in Texas. Vaughn wrote the song lenny that same day and played it for his wife the next day.. here is the video
Now it seems that the Fender Lenny from SRV had quite a few changes over the years and it was signed by Mickey Mantle in 1985 when Vaughn played at the Houston Astrodome
IN 1990 after Stevies death in a helicopter crash, Lenny was the only guitar that was offered to the public and it was auctioned off with the money going to the Guitar center.
